Now I'm a Book Reviewer: The Shack

This book is apparently a huge best-seller and I thought I'd try to save anyone out there who hasn't read it from spending any money on it.  I actually bought it at a Christian bookstore, but I am convinced that if they knew what a piece of trash it is, they wouldn't be selling it.
The premise is that a man whose daughter was kidnapped and murdered receives a note from God inviting him to the shack where the murder occurred.  That in itself is a tough sell, but what follows is such drivel that I could barely finish it .  The fact that it is a best seller tells me that since the continuing assault on Judeo Christian values and faith,  the great unwashed are searching for meaning in their lives and for something higher than the pitiful spectacle of mankind trying to run things without God.
A friend gave me copies of some reader reviews of the book, especially from clergy who know Scripture and can speak about it intelligently.  The book itself  so deviates from anything a Christian would believe based on the Bible that it made me wonder what planet the author came from.  And so I leave you with this thought:  just because a book is a best seller and WYNONA JUDD is quoted on the back cover saying how it just saved her life, or fixed her problems, or some such testimonial, don't assume you should rush right out and buy it.  Check with me first, now that I'm a book reveiwer.  : )
